Printing SongBooks

FastTracks V2 allows for advanced customization of your printed SongBook. You decide on the look or layout of your printed SongBook!

Customization is accomplished through various combinations of design settings. Literally thousands of combinations are possible, thus allowing you the freedom to design your own UNIQUE SongBook!

·   To design and print your SongBook, click _bm60.png from the Main SongBook Menu.

·   Click on "Design and Print SongBooks" from the "Print Menu".  
 
The following Print Setup Screen will appear.

Take a second to familiarize yourself with the layout and functionality of the Print Setup screen

At the top of the screen, you'll see 5 "
Setup Tabs". You'll use these Tabs to define the design elements of your printed SongBook.

To design your print layout, let's first start with the
General Tab...

Here you'll define the
General layout of your printed SongBook.

·   Select the desired Sort option. Selecting "Song Title" will result in a printed SongBook sorted alphabetically by Song Title, with the columns arranged Song Title, Artist, Song#. Selecting Artist will result in a printed SongBook sorted alphabetically by Artist, with the columns arranged Artist, Song Title, Song#.  

·   Select the desired general print format. The available general print formats are displayed above each option.  

·   Click on the Header Tab...

Here you'll define the Header portion of your printed SongBook.

·   Enter an optional "Header Text". This text will be printed at the top of all pages.  
·   Select the "Typeface" you wish for the Header Text. Click on the drop-down list for available typefaces.  
·   Click on the desired font attributes (ie. Bold, Italics).  
·   Choose the color you wish for the Header Text by clicking _bm65.png  
·   Select the "Typeface" you wish for the Column Heading. Click on the drop-down list for available typefaces.  
·   Click on the desired font attributes (ie. Bold, Italics).  
·   Choose the desired "Text Color" for the Column Heading Text by clicking _bm65.png  
·   Choose the desired "Fill Color" for the Column Header by clicking _bm65.png  
·   Choose the desired "Border Color" for the Column Header by clicking _bm65.png  
Notice that as you select options, a sample of your design is displayed below.  

·   When you're happy with the look of your Header, click on the Body Tab....

Here you'll define the Body portion of your printed SongBook. The Body is the actual Song Listings printed on each page.

·   Select the "Typeface" you wish for the Body Text. Click on the drop-down list for available typefaces.  
·   Select the Font Size of the Body Text. If you've selected the two-column print format this option will be disabled.  
·   Select the desired Font Case of the Body Text.  
·   Select the desired Font Style and attributes for each column. You may also HIDE the MFR and Song # column if desired.  
·   Choose the color you wish for the Body Text by clicking _bm65.png  
Notice that as you select options, a sample of your design is displayed below.  

·   When you're happy with the look of the Body, click on the Footer Tab....

Here you'll define the Footer layout of your printed SongBook.

·   Enter an optional "Footer Text". This text will be printed at the bottom of all pages.  
·   Select the "Typeface" you wish for the Footer Text. Click on the drop-down list for available typefaces.  
·   Click on the desired font attributes (ie. Bold, Italics).  
·   Choose the color you wish for the Footer Text by clicking _bm65.png  
Notice that as you select options, a sample of your design is displayed below.  
 
·   Click on the Advanced Tab....

Here you'll select the Advanced options for your printed SongBook.

·   Select the desired paper size.  
·   Starting Page Number. Set the starting page number for your printed SongBook. Useful when printing both a Song Title and Artist section for the same SongBook. Set the starting page of one section as the ending page +1 of the other.  
·   Offset Pages for Binding. Check this option if your normally bind your SongBooks and wish to have the pages offset to make room for the bindings.  
·   Remove Duplicate Songs. Check this option if you do not wish duplicate songs printed.

Allows you to select up to EIGHT Brand/Series Preferences!  
Your PREFERRED Selections will automatically be selected and printed.

NOTE: Song listings are NOT removed from the SongBook.  
 
·   Remove Vocals. Attempts to remove Song Listings listed as containing Lead Vocals.  
·   Include Disc Mfr. Column. Check this option if you wish the Mfr. column to be printed in your SongBook.  
·   Filter by Date Added. Click here if you wish to print only those Song Listings added between two dates. Useful for printing a "New Releases SongBook Supplement".  
If you activate filtering, two additional fields will become visible

·   Enter the Starting Date. Only Song Listings added on or after this date will be printed.  
·   Enter the Ending Date. Only Song Listings added on or before this date will be printed.  
·   Filter by Genre. Check this option if you wish only selected Genre tracks to be printed.  
·   Select the desired Genre from the drop-down list.  
·   Print Duets Only. Check this option if you wish to only print listings tagged as duets.  

Now you're ready to print your SongBook!

·   Click Print. Your custom SongBook will be generated.  
The following dialog will be displayed...

·   Select "View Report" to Preview your SongBook or "Print Report" to print the SongBook without previewing it.  
·   Select the number of copies you wish and whether you wish them collated.  
·   Click the printer button _bm71.png to setup options unique to your printer such as duplex or two-sided printing, quality etc.  
·   When you're ready click "Ok"  
·   If you selected "View Report" you'll be presented with the SongBook Previewer screen.

Here you may preview your new SongBook.
Each button is identified pop-up help accessed by holding your mouse cursor over the button.
When you're ready to print your SongBook click _bm73.png.


Now that you're happy with your design, let's save it for later recall. This will prevent you from having to reset your design options at a later date.

·   Click Save Setup.  
The following dialog will appear.

·   Enter a memorable filename for your setup. A good suggestion might be "mybook title", "mybook artist" or "mybook title new releases". depending on the setup.  
·   Click Save.  

To recall this or any setup at a later date...

·   Click Recall Setup.  
·   You'll be asked whether you wish to save the current setup. If you've made changes to the current setup you should click Yes and follow the same procedure as above, otherwise click No.  
The following screen will appear.

·   Locate the desired setup file and click on it, then click Open.  

The saved setup options will automatically be restored.
