Why are the song lyrics lagging or not displaying at all on the performers/secondary screen? ...

Scenario 1.

If after launching a Karaoke Performance, the onscreen song lyrics seriously lag or the audience screen (Secondary Screen) remains as the original background screen (with no lyrics) ...

Most likely, your computer has been running for an extended period of time (although you may "think" it's freshly started, see below) and has exhausted its available resources below an acceptable threshold to run CompuHost reliably.

Could this be true?

You may be saying right now, "I shutdown my computer regularly, so how can it be running out of resources, and why do I need to hold down the shift key while initiating a shutdown?"

Well, you may "think" you've been shutting down your computer, but due to an obscure feature found in Windows 8.0, 8.1 and 10, known as "Fast Start", your computer is NOT actually shutting down as you may be expecting. Instead, to facilitate faster startups, it's actually entering a "quasi-hybernation mode".

The Fix:

You must perform a FULL system shutdown and restart to recover the exhausted resources. Please be reminded that simply performing a regular shutdown on Windows 10, 8.0 or 8.1 does NOT result in a FULL system shutdown as required.

Please follow these steps to initiate the required FULL shutdown...

  1. Click the Windows START button.
  2. Click the "Power" icon to bring up the Shutdown options (Sleep, Shut down, Restart etc.).
  3. IMPORTANT! Simultaneously PRESS and HOLD the SHIFT key down while clicking the "Shut down" selection.

This will FORCE the Windows Operating System to do a "Full Shutdown." Your issues should be resolved upon restart.

To ensure optimum computer performance and reliability we recommend initiating a FULL shutdown (by following the above steps) at least once a week.

 CompuHost V3 User's...

Everything above still applies; however, we have great news for you! We have instituted safeguards within the latest CompuHost V3 revisions (v.3.45.01 or later) that helps alleviate some of the potentially negative effects caused by exhausted resources.

Simply ensure you are utilizing the very latest CompuHost V3 revision (v.3.45.01 or later) to enjoy the benefits of these newly added safeguards.

Scenario 2.

If after launching a Karaoke Performance the Secondary "Lyrics" window simply "go's black" ...

This is an indication that "most likely" the video device drivers need to be updated/reinstalled. The best and most reliable way to to do this is simply contact the computer or device manufacturer and obtain the most up-to-date driver links for reinstallation.

NOTE: We highly recommend NOT using the built-in Windows "automatic driver update process" as it is well documented within the Windows community that the Windows "automatic driver update process" is far less reliable (for a multitude of reasons) in obtaining the PROPER updated drivers for the applicable devices.
